1)Shear test and bioelectrical potential monitoring of soil containing roots
2)Relationship between ground shear strength and plant biopotential fluctuations

Geodisaster prevention utilizing vegetation
A bioelectric sensor system that monitors changes in bioelectrical potentials (brain waves and electrocardiograms in humans) are developed. When trees in mountainous areas are exposed to shear and tensile forces caused by landslides by attaching sensors to their roots and trunks, that can be used to detect landslides in advance and issue warnings and other information. A machine learning program was constructed to estimate ground displacement from real-time potential fluctuations by monitoring the amplitude and frequency of displacement and plant biopotential when the ground containing plant roots is subjected to landsildes.
