Unified computation of seismic waves, crustal deformation and tsunami waves excited by a suboceanic earthquake in Japan. Vertical motions on the land and sea surface (top) and the sea floor (bottom) are displayed.

We are mainly involved in computational seismology. We have developed a number of novel numerical schemes for modeling local and global seismic wave and tsunami wave propagation, and have applied them to strong ground motion and tsunami simulations of real and assumed earthquake events, and inversions for source processes and seismic structures.
