Also, exploration of beneficial microorganisms, feed crops, nutrients etc. that have protective effects against infectious diseases or effects of symptom alleviation, and vaccine development for livestock.

5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA), a natural amino acid, is effective in alleviating the clinical signs of avian coccidiosis even in very small doses. Lactic acid bacteria are also effective against avian coccidiosis, but can not produce 5-ALA. Therefore, in order to combine these, we are developing 5-ALA producing lactic acid bacteria and are studying their effects on infectious diseases including avian coccidiosis.
