Nanochemistry

The aim of our research is to explore nanometrology by exploiting the novel functionality of inorganic nanomaterials. We are currently investigating nanoscale properties of biological samples and electronic devices, through optical responses of nanodiamonds and metallic nanoparticles.

We study diamond nanoparticles containing nitrogen as impurities. By measuring the changes in electron spin resonance exhibited by these nanoparticles, they can be used as nanoscale temperature sensors to investigate the local temperature of cells, for example. Our research is interdisciplinary spanning over
