Dean of Graduate School of Environmental, Life, Natural Science and Technology

This graduate school was established on April 1, 2023, through the reorganization and integration of the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology and the Graduate School of Environmental and Life Science. The new graduate school has introduced a degree program system. This has allowed us to reorganize the old system of majors, which were divided according to specialized fields, into an organization that can provide a flexible and wide range of course groups and faculty members, based on a backcasting approach from the image of the human resources we wish to produce. Each program offers a wide range of specialized subjects that span the fields of science, engineering, agriculture and environmental studies. This allows students to design their own study plans. In addition, we have established a \u201cspecial course\u201d that allows students to plan their studies over a five-year period through the master’s and doctoral courses, and several \u201csub-programs\u201d that provide a group of lectures in fields with high social needs that are common to the graduate school, creating an educational program that can respond flexibly to accelerating social change. We have also enhanced the early learning system within a larger framework.<\/p>\n

The Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology and the Graduate School of Environmental and Life Science, which formed the basis for this reorganization, were once a single graduate school, but due to the diversification of specialized fields and the demands of the times, they have undergone organizational restructuring to provide focused education in separate fields. Now, with the emergence of global warming and climate change, the worldwide trend towards DX and GX, and the fact that artificial intelligence is now at a level where it can affect human life and the employment environment, there is a greater need than ever for education that enables students to quickly acquire and put into practice a comprehensive knowledge that covers a wide range of areas. The degree programs introduced by the new graduate school are one way of making this possible.<\/p>\n

We would like all students to envision the future they would like to achieve, and to actively select and study the knowledge and skills they would like to acquire to achieve that future. The Graduate School of Environmental, Life, Natural Science and Technology will respect and support this intention to the greatest extent possible. We will also continue to develop our information dissemination and collaborative activities with local, social, and global stakeholders, so we ask for your continued understanding and cooperation in our new initiatives for developing advanced human resources at the new graduate school.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
